STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Its all in the Pallette
So often we think that to make a statement we have to go all out and be dressed to the nines and have a hundred different things going on. I’m always astonished at how many girls (of whom I am incredibly envious) can be wearing quite simple and inexpensively bought items but really just still have that bam, stand out quality. This week’s Fashionista definitely stood out to me when I saw her walking along Oxford Street. The neutral (ad perfect for fall) pallet and that fur collar? Stylish, simple, but eye-catching all at once! Pulling off a similar look is incredibly easy this season. Fur accents and neutral tones are all the rage right now and can be found pretty much anywhere.
Fall. It’s the time of year where we all go a bit crazy with out daily dress. Accessories are in full and glorious swing, layering is always lovely and the options of what you can do are endless! I couldn’t help but be captivated by these two gorgeous European girls I came across in Leicester Square while touring around Central London; they just hit the perfect mark on what fall fashion is meant to be — a bit over the top or teetering on that edge of when “too much is enough” and both pulled it off perfectly in two very different ways! Whether you’re doing the menswear thing or keeping it classy, fall is the time for you to shine.
While the English weather has been cooling down for a good while, I’m still posted in the States until the middle of the month and its only just starting to taper off in Chicago! Fashionistas and Fashionistos alike find themselves in a constant state of give and take with the changing climate. We still want to sport our summer duds but its starting to get a little too chilly to do it. The lovely CollegeFashionista editor Amy Levin likes to call this season “Sall”, a term I think I’m going to have to borrow from her. The Fashionista for this week also did a great job of seamlessly blending her fall and summer wardrobes, but in a much brighter way! Personally I’m all for transitioning your brights and florals into fall wear. It’s a huge misconception, if you ask me, that fall and winter should narrow your colour options down to neutrals and darks. Rock an outfit that truly stands out and brings those bright reds and corals to the table.
